Ah, just as mayhem ends, mayhem begins once again. Phoneleads has been released, taking place of the recently cleared memory slot in our brains. Our workload is still heavy, but be sure to look out for new releases to be posted on "Listen" or on the SoundCloud. Shorter update, more time to create noise!

 

MARCH 2014

March? March! The march of events is everywhere! In his own march and exploration across the Saharan desert, Henri Duveyrier “discovered” the Tuareg people. It's always easier to seek reflections of identity elsewhere. Call it projection- he idealized them as the embodiment of some chivalrous tradition Europeans had long lost, spilling praise on his journals for their steadfast temperaments. Can’t blame him. Their famous indigo blue headdresses and blues style guitar traditions are really captivating. Just look at bands like Tiniwaren. The march of events is everywhere! Anywho, Spring break has creative juices flowing again imposed via dialysis. Cumbia rhythms, some breakbeats, Tuareg music, and synthesizer tweaking. Perhaps we’ll have some of the new ideas recorded in May? We hope so! College makes logistics difficult. I don’t think a man like Duveyrier would agree. To that, I challenge his ghost and walk in his shoes as a mental exercise. I wonder how the Sahara desert is this time of year.
